It's basically like... a pancake-cake.
In our home, we’ve always called these little guys German Pancakes. But that name “Hootenanny” grew on me pretty fast—so from now on, Hootenanny it is.
We really enjoy making these with strawberries, but we’ve also used peaches & other fruits—basically whatever's in season. We've even topped them with healthier chocolate chips (our favorite brand is Enjoy Life).
And we love this recipe, because:

Chocolate & Mint Lovers:
Enjoy a mouthwatering chocolate chip Hootenanny, possibly topped with some homemade organic chocolate syrup (infused with organic peppermint extract)—and maybe even some peppermint (or spearmint!) leaves on top, for a pretty & tasty presentation. Then for brushing your beautiful "pearlies" afterward, pair it with our ToothPaste or ToothPowder of: Peppermint Fresh or Sweet Spearmint.
Lemon Lovers:
Add a little organic lemon extract and/or lemon juice to your batter, and top with lemon zest, or even lemon curd! Then pair that with our Lemon Drop.
Orange Lovers:
Simple... Do the same exact thing as Lemon Lovers, but with orange! Then pair it with our Orange Cream.
Cinnamon Lovers:
Think Cinnamon Bun. YUM... We always use pure Ceylon Cinnamon (not cheapy Cassia "cinnamon" from the grocery store—which isn't even real cinnamon!). When you taste & smell the difference, you'll never go back... Simply mix a little Cinnamon in with your batter, or sprinkle it over the top. Pair that with our Cinnamon Tingle.
Minimalists:
Prefer no fancy flavors? Just want to top your Hootenanny with real maple syrup or honey & nothing else? Pair that with our simple, no-added-flavor Just Natural.
Now for the crowning glory— The Recipe:
Real-Food “Hootenanny” Pancake (German Pancake)
This is our go-to Hootenanny recipe—simple, nourishing, and made with real, wholesome ingredients. Perfect for breakfast (or dinner!), and even better when you match the flavors to your favorite ToothPaste or ToothPowder (see below). 😍
Ingredients:

1/2 - 2/3 stick organic butter

6 organic, pasture-raised eggs

3/4 cup organic whole wheat flour (pastry or regular work just fine)

1 cup organic, raw or non-homogenized milk

Dash of unrefined salt

1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract
Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 425°F

As the oven heats—place the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Set dish in the oven & let it heat until the butter is just melted (Keep an eye on it).

While the butter melts—combine the eggs, milk, flour, salt, and vanilla in a blender. Blend for a few seconds until smooth.

Carefully remove the hot dish from the oven and pour the batter over the top of the melted butter.

Bake for approx. 25 minutes, or until the edges are puffed and golden brown.

Now imagine your beautiful, freshly baked Hootenanny (like the one below in the photo), topped with your favorite, flavorful toppings... Add those, and enjoy!
